Ever since Gina sent the bloggy world on fire with this spot of inspired refashioning, I have been itching for a dash to the local oppie to see what potential I could unearth. Imagine the glee when the refashion genius herself, presented this Myrtle and Eunice a ready-felted, raring to go, red (favourite colour) cardigan.
It’s only because we really need to not have eggs on toast for dinner again tonight, that today the creative space is ricocheting about in my head, while the little red number follows me around. Do you know the feeling when you’re pottering about, maybe cleaning your teeth or possibly searching for the toothpaste which finally, inexplicably, shows up in the two year old’s cot and suddenly you have a stunning revelation? Your heart thumps in your ears, there’s a tingling in your fingers, a flush to your cheeks and you know that NO-ONE – ANYWHERE – HAS EVER CONSIDERED YOUR BLINDINGLY BRILLIANT IDEA? Today this happened to me. My new red cardi becomes a (very nearly) instant bolero-style success when worn upside down. And except for Nikki’s wee one, who wears her coat upside down while shopping (but that doesn’t count because Nikki thinks she reckons it’s on the right way) I am convinced I have reinvented the wheel.*
* Someone, please, stop me now...

I know that feeling! That sounds so fun. (I have not found toothpaste in the 2 year old's bed, but I have found it smeared all over our bathroom cabinetry.)
No, don't stop!! This is so great - I love it! Let the juices flow, babe :) Good luck with your red cardi refashioning! (Gina's post was a trailblazer wasn't it?!)

You are on FIRE! That red is gorgeous!!!
don't stop don't stop the best ideas are mad ones (or is that just me?)
I was so inspired by gina as well, I went to the oppy and had no luck at all!! Gee I was not a happy camper, I had the hot water and dryer all set. I cannot wait to see what upside down, inside out creation you come up with. I'll keep watching...
ohh, haven't had that feeling in a while, get going with it I say! let them eat eggs!! (again!) hehe.
Gina's refashion was fabulous. Busting to see what you've free wheeled!
Can you force yourself to have an epiphany of the crafty kind? 'Cause i have been trying my hardest to have a massive brainwave of craftiness so that I can then make and sell stuff, thus further enabling my addiction.
Upside down cardi is a good one (my sister does do it but she hasn't patented it so you go girl!)
Experiencing acute sense of embarassment. If anyone from my pre-blog life gets wind of notion that I may have 'trailblazed' something related to FASHION, I'll never hear the end of it!
PS can't you just do a bit of an average refashion? Perhaps some red woolen gaiters?
That red is gorgeous and it would make my toothpaste dissappear too!
just let those ideas flow...
enjoy the creative moments!

That red is just so beautiful my knees have gone wobbly.

very inspirational and love the red too! :-)
Go be creative - kids *love* eggs on toast :) (I should know - mine ask for it frequently!)
Brilliant colour!! I look forward to seeing what you do with it :)
That red is my favourite!!
I likey, likey, Go and be creative, eggs on toast? try beans on toast! very nutritional and easy peasy. My kids loved this when they were little. Go, Be Creative. It is what makes the world go round.
Love your blog, and red, not a colour i like to wear myself, but what a lovely shade. I would see some rose brooches coming out if it if it was mine, worn scattered over the shoulders and down the front in whole or part petals. Oh to dream. Enjoy your fire engine red.
Refashioning? Love it!
Gina is a legend everyone is trying a refashion everywhere!! love your post! Can't wait to see more of the red loveliness! about variegated wool..I just can't get enough of it I just love watching it knit up it's like a miracle..now it's my turn to stop!!
All sounding perfectly reasonable here... As you know, "upside-down" is perfectly acceptable in these here parts.
I loved Gina's refashioning, too.
You know you can't be stopped! that would be like stopping a crazy craft inspired locomotive!! (Hey, I like that..motive & loco!) Laughed about the toothpaste, sounds like our place xo
ooo can't stop you when you're on a roll. I am excited for you and with you! Can't wait to see what comes of the red cardigan...
Gorgeous colour. Can't wait to see your upside down bolero. Have fun refashioning.
