Hold On A Tick...

I’m just going to hold that clock still for a smidge or two longer. Time to take a moment for a spot of reflection, taking stock, breathing it all quietly in before a great filling-the-lungs breath and jumping with both feet in to a whole new decade. I’ve been remembering to stop and reflect on things. From a crafty perspective, I can’t help but conclude that I could have done with moderating the obsessive tendencies and introducing a little more sleep...

This morning I received the saddest of news from a friend. It arrived via text message and I have re-read it many times, understanding the depth of loss; marvelling at the good and beauty found in the tragic. It was a heck of a reminder that the moment is precious.

It’s a whole new moment, new day, new year.

I wish you every kind of wonderful.

Happy New Year Tania, I hope your friend is alright, thinking of you and that sad news just now.

Amazing and stunning amount of productivity recorded there! All the best for a great 2010.

Sad news is the worstest. There's a bit of it around here too, and I know what you mean about it being a wake up call... I'm the sort of person that speaks in huge dramatic statements, but everytime I've said "It's the worst thing in the world" or something similar lately, I've kind of trailed off... As for your crafting. You either need to go to Crafters Anonymous or open a little online shop. Though it would have so much success you'd have to open a little sweatshop too. I can just see the future photos of curly heads bent over a crotchet hook.

Sorry to hear about the bad news. Things like that do help us remember to stop and breathe, tell our loved ones how we feel and try a little harder, don't they.

I can't believe all your crafty goodness this year! I am so inspired to make this year even more crafty than last! :)

All the "obsessive " crafting has been inspired and your concern with the serious things has been inspiring .
I've loved every minute of everything from tidy-ups to hat making . And how could I not love a blog entry that brought me such fetching rabbit bottoms !
I hope 2010 is full of good things , they make us stronger when bad things happen .

I do hope your friend will be OK. And that you are OK. I know those sorts of messages that stop the world for a while.

And on a crafty note, you amaze me- and I can't wait to see what is in store for 2010. THanks for sharing 2009 with us.

My sympathies to your friend.

I love that the beginning of a new year offers that moment to draw breath, reflect on lessons learnt and move forward with an optimistic mind. "I can do this" is a most fantastic mantra.

mmmm. reminders like that are precious, and painful. with a lot of potential to wake us up a bit more. i was wondering today if we can be awake, and dreaming at the same time. i decided i believe we can. consciously day dreaming, when we choose! ( or night dreaming, which i haven't learned to do yet). anyways.....thank you for your kind wishes. i'll take them!

Those little ones with knitted hats on heads - that tendril of hair hanging down her face, a gap-toothed grin, a label under a wise smile. Lovely pictures and lovely words from a (dare I say) lovely friendly person.
