I didn't know there was a Marvin Gaye version until I read this post, I feel terribly 80s now... Your things are always so beautifully quirky. And, yes, we have stuff around here that we'd prefer not to ever live without...my first teddy bear...now Levi's, my collection of broken down teapots that couldn't make tea if they tried, a desk I bought for $10 when I was sixteen...paint peeling and all...I love it, and piles of books that have most definitely made it to best friend status.

I swore I wouldn't join any more of these fun things until next year but, I must say that I love your theme...and your things. I actually had a moment yesterday in which I realized that there were two new fairly (to us) items in the house that are fast becoming an integral part of our home, part of our tribe of things. For me...it's my cookbooks and ceramics that I bought on my travels whilst living in London.

I was GUTTED whne we unpacked and found some hadn't survived.

It's kinda strange too but I always feel a real sense of home when I visit mum and dad. I seem to revert to my inner child, without a care in the world!
